Отлчиная статья! Новое время открывает новые возможности для тех, кто всё время сожалел о том (по различным причинам - по возрасту, например), что ему не удалось что-то сделать в 90-е по сравнению с теми, кто что-то смог...

First big one was killed in the kitchen. I'm ready for WAR.
Have you ever seen Forest Gump movie?
I like this movie very much and watch it very often. When you see movies so frequent, you compare your life-situations with moments of your favorite movies. The same happens with me. So.
Just remembered a moment from Forest Gump, when he was writing mails from Vietnam to his girl-friend : It can sudden start raining and sudden stop as well. The same is here.
In Taiwan it rains very very often. And it is part of life, I mean umbrellas are part of your life. You use it to hide from the rain and to hide from the sun -> you use it always.
I even think start importing umbrellas from Taiwan to Russia.

Today was an earthquake.
Not so strong, about 3 seconds of duration. Ears were blocked. The source of earthquake was somewhere in the middle of island. It was about 6 points. I live & work in Taipei - it is in north, so the power here was not so strong. It is common here.
2 days before was my birthday. 24. Thanks everybody wrote on my wall in www.vkontakte.ru. It is really pleasure to see congratulations so far away from home from very different people.

Landlord in Taiwan.
Once I asked Landlord to change a light bulb in my room, because when i moved in it doesn't work. He took off his shoes before to enter in my room, but stood on my bed and on my clothes on that bed with his legs. I can't understand that.
Taxi Driver.
I took a taxi, said my address, he answered "Ok"! After 15 minutes of driving he asks my address again. I wondered why didn't he specified my address before the trip ?
People on the street.
I don't know number of the bus, but I know where to go and can show that place on map, that i keep with me. I ask a men on the street to help me. He doesn't know, but makes every effort to help me, he calls other people on the street. He can even cross the street and ask another person. Sometimes they are so kind, that ready to bring me to that place by car or motorbike. Sometimes they ask my mobile phone number. So, when someone will bring you to your place in Taiwan - be ready to be asked the number :-)
In bus, in MRT (Underground).
People in Taiwan are very friendly. Every time they see me - say hallo, ask where did I come from and so on. The most popular foreign nation in Taiwan - Americans, that is why everybody supposes that I'm from US. When I answer that I'm from Russia - they look confused. They can even don't know that word. First time I was confused too - how can man don't know the biggest country in the world ? Later I was explained, that they don't know how will be Russia in English, that is why they look confused. One old man, asked me standard questions, when he heard about Russia, he explained me that Russia becomes very rich, because of oil and gas. Thanks.
BTHW, Putin is very popular, even in such small country. Everybody knows about him.

So, let us start this topic
The weather here is extremly wet and hot. Washed clothes can't get dry. You always become misty. On the other side there are conditioneers everywhere. So. if you didn't get use for that (temperature changings) you will soon get flu. I think that is one of the resons why most of people there are wearing bandages on their faces. They say - not to get flu.
Cockroaches there are very big, comparing to their brothers that live in Russia. They say in Summer there will be more and they will fly. WOW!
Traffic there is extremly chaotic. People don't follow the rules at all. They turn on side lights only before to make turn, sometimes don't do at all. They never stop - it is easier to them just drive around (I'm talking about scooters). Ladies in cars as unpredictable as in our country, even my HR, that has studied MBA in the USA. I thought that in Moscow the way of driving is terrible - that was an error. Here it is more. BTHW, bus drivers are crazy, they drive so fast, and make so sudden stops, that you can even fall down.
Extremly attention to the white people. Everytime i walk thru the street i hear "beep", - that do taxi-drivers. Not only taxi drivers, but everyone looks at white people like they just come from space.
Tapei is a quite dirty city. Once i saw a young boy pissing on the building of one of the main streets in my district, his father was nearby him, and i think he didn't mind.
Sometimes I compare this bad things to Russia. After that our country seems to me like a best place on the world. On the other hand I begin understanding foreigners, that come to Russia. They have cultural shock too.
Every Taiwanese asks how long am I here. What do i think about it. And so on. I was so tired of it, that once have not noticed my answering to girl on her stupid question : "What was the worst thing that you saw in Taiwan". As she asked me so directly, she got so direct answer "Some of the food smells like shit". She was totally shocked! I forgot she is local. Actually, foreigners from Europe, USA, South America think the same.
Sorry, Angel (It is her name), but it is true.
By the way, Chinese have stromg actient, sometimes it is difficult to understand them. Local people who work with foreigners have western names. Usually they are : Peggy, Billy, Penny, Ella, Jien, Jimmy and so on... Why ? - Becuase Roth, Bernhard, Richard, David is difficult to say.

Some food from nightmarket.

I've got it! I'm in Taiwan.
That is why I've decided to run my livejournal - to make some notes about living in Taiwan. Before to create an account I thought a lot about how will i run it, and what will I put here. I'm going to make some notes about life, business and culture in this country. So, let's get started!
Firstly, I went by night train to our capital. That was a day, when Zenith St.Petersburg won the UEFA-cup. My train was from Ladozhskiy railway station. Why Ladozhskiy? Tere is a train, that goes from Helsinki to Moscow, and I decided to try it, why not ? :-) I have never travelled in a coupe, I have never travelled from Ladozhskiy railway station, and I have never bought a ticket thru on-line booking. So I did.
Moscow. I took some pictures of night city.
